The Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade reverses fifty years of precedent and goes against the spirit of the Constitution. It is the right of every person to exercise autonomy over their body. I have consistently fought against legislation attempting to limit access to abortion and other contraceptive care, and voted to pass legislation which would codify the right to choose into law. Connecticut leads the nation in policy to protect access to contraceptive care, and I will continue to fight so these rights are not undermined at the federal level. I support proposals that expand access to contraception and sex education so every person’s reproductive choices remain between them and their doctor.
